Compare the dolls in this guide
What is the difference between silicone and cloth-body reborn dolls?
A full body silicone doll has a silicone body. Lola’s cloth-body dolls have fabric torsos with vinyl heads and limbs. Compare individual size and weight as well as construction. Neither label, by itself, tells you which doll will feel most comfortable or suit your display.
Start with what is beneath the clothes
The torso is the key difference. Clothing may cover it in photographs, making two dolls appear more alike than their construction suggests. Read the body description before deciding how you expect the doll to feel when supported.
Lola’s cloth-body listings specify vinyl head and limbs. They should not be described as silicone-limbed simply because they share a realistic style with other dolls. Full body silicone is a different construction.
| Question | Full body silicone | Cloth body in Lola’s range |
|---|---|---|
| Torso | Silicone | Fabric |
| Head and limbs | Check complete silicone specification | Vinyl |
| Weight | Model-specific | Model-specific |
| Cleaning | Follow silicone and hair guidance | Wipe-clean cloth-body guidance |
Start with the body type
Select a construction for the key handling distinction, then check the exact doll’s guidance.
Full body silicone
Support the head and body, avoid pulling small parts and follow the individual hair and finish instructions. Lola’s general guidance allows gentle bathing with lukewarm water and a little mild soap if needed; check your model first.
Meet the silicone dollsUse weight to test your assumptions
Amelia is an 18-inch silicone doll listed at 2.5 kg. Phoebe is a 24-inch cloth-body doll listed at 1.5 kg. Ezra is a 26-inch cloth-body example listed at 2.5 kg. These differences show that a larger cloth-body doll need not be heavier than a smaller silicone doll.
Think about both the weight and the space the doll occupies in your arms. Choose a size you can support comfortably and ask about the exact model if the way it settles matters to you.
Consider dressing and the look you want
A fabric torso can sit beneath an outfit while the face and limbs remain visible. If you want clothing with open sides or a particular neckline, consider whether it will reveal the torso construction. Full body silicone gives a different body appearance.
For either construction, compare garment measurements and use openings that do not require force over hands or head. Do not assume the same outfit will fit two dolls of equal length if their proportions differ.
Compare construction beside the measurements
These examples show the material difference without treating all dolls in either group as identical.
Compare sizes, weights and body types
| Doll | Construction | Length | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sofia | Full body silicone | 18 in / 45.7 cm | 3.5 kg / 7.7 lb |
| Freddie | Cloth body with vinyl head and limbs | 24 in / 61.0 cm | 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb |
| Pearl | Cloth body with vinyl head and limbs | 24 in / 61.0 cm | 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb |
| Frankie | Full body silicone | 13 in / 33.0 cm | 1.3 kg / 2.9 lb |
| Phoebe | Cloth body with vinyl head and limbs | 24 in / 61.0 cm | 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb |
| Ezra | Cloth body with vinyl head and limbs | 26 in / 66.0 cm | 2.5 kg / 5.5 lb |
Keep the care routines separate
Use the instructions for the actual doll. Lola’s cloth-body dolls are wipe-clean only; do not soak the fabric torso. The silicone care guidance is different and also needs attention to hair and finishing.
Moulded vinyl hands and feet should not be bent to imitate flexible movement. Support the doll and move whole limbs only as the listing’s handling advice permits. Material comparisons are not instructions to test a body’s limits.

Choose by your priorities
If holding feel leads your choice, compare weight and ask about supported movement. If dressing or display leads it, think about visible body areas, size and outfit fit. Shortlist one example of each construction, inspect the galleries and compare the current prices before deciding.
