A doll may have a cloth body with vinyl limbs, a full vinyl body or a silicone body. The material of the face alone does not tell you how the rest of the doll is made. Look for a clear description of the body and limbs.

What does “weighted” tell you?

A weighted doll is intended to have a more substantial feel, but the word does not identify its material or total weight. Always look for the actual confirmed weight and how the doll is constructed.

Care is specific to the doll

Materials, paint, hair and internal construction all influence how a doll should be handled and cleaned. Follow the supplier’s instructions for the individual product. Never assume that full body silicone automatically means suitable for bathing.

Read material descriptions as separate facts

A useful listing tells you the body material, whether the torso is cloth or the same material as the limbs, and the total weight. Terms such as realistic, premium and lifelike describe an impression; they do not replace those details. Ask for clarification if the description only names the material of the head.
